Pavo cristatus: Indian Peacock
We went to the Maryhill Museum of Art at the end of August. It's a great museum, wonderful first nation exhibit. And Rodin. And Theatre de la Mode. And Ansel Adams, when we were there.
And peacocks. Indian Peacocks. Several of them wandering the grounds. It's a good place for them; that part of the Columbia River Gorge is dry and scrubby, and there's nothing around for miles so the birds can be as loud as they want.
One of these characters was hanging out near the cafe. You know how beautiful their displays are, but I wasn't prepared for how beautiful their faces are. And of course, they have those funny topknots I like so much.
