Phoenix

There was a plane crash a couple of weeks ago in Sugar Grove, IL, that killed two men. The flames resulting from the plane crash also seriously burned a female red-tailed hawk, who had been sleeping near the crash site.

Flint Creek Wildlife Rehabilitation has been treating the hawk, who they named Phoenix. Despite having most of her feathers burned off, as well as her outer eyelids, she appears to be doing pretty well.
