Corvus brachyrhynchos: American Crow
We've got lots of crows around here - a group of them likes to hang out in the tree on the corner... I think mostly because one of the neighbors feeds them.
They have a certain arrogance to them, but it's not at the expense of attention. These birds are wary. If one of them is on the grass or sidewalk in front of me, it won't let me stop to get a good look. My best bet is usually my bins.
These are from photos. Isn't it amazing the postures birds can adopt? My favorite: the marching crow.
