Junco hyemalis ??: Oregon Junco
The Oregon Junco was one of my favorite birds growing up. Our house had a couple of big windows overlooking the backyard, and my mom has always made sure to have at least one tree for birds to perch in and a bird bath for bathing. I loved the juncos because they were out and about during the winter. Even when the weather was too awful for us to be out.
Cute, entertaining AND funny to watch.
There are seven different subspecies of the Oregon Junco, which is itself a subspecies of the dark-eyed Junco. I don't know enough about Juncos to differentiate between them, hence the ??
